Ladies & Gents...

...come one, come all to hear some AMAZING music this week at Roots Cafe. Speaking of ladies & gents, it seems our nights are themed that way this round. Thursday we have some good ol' boys taking the lead & Friday will be followed by some of the finest ladies in the Brooklyn folk scene.

 Thursday, March 14th / 7-9pm

Friday, March 15th / 7-10pm

Also I'd like to invite everyone out to one of our favorite spots in the hood, BAR 4, this Saturday, march 16th, 8pm, to hear my band, BARNYARD BROTHERS, play. My good buddy GYPSY GEORGE put this wonderful night of local music together with himself, (GYPSY GEORGE & THE OPEN ROAD LOVE AFFAIR), ALEX MALLETT BAND & more... Hope to see you all there!

Also join us again on Friday evening for the lovely sarah Donner! Following her will be Mr. Chris Q. case you didn't get enough on Wednesday. This time, however, he will be joined by his wonderful band, The fiendish thingies, doing some original country tunes. Music from 8-10pm.

All you need is love!

Well, love & maybe a cup of good coffee, good eats & local music! We will be closing early tonight to celebrate with our sweethearts but will be extending the celebration to everyone tomorrow,Fri. Feb. 15th. Any day is a good day to share a little love, especially in the form of song.
We have assembled a stellar line up of local talent to play & sing some of the greatest love songs of all time...a few heartbreak songs too...that's life right? There will also be a time for request & maybe even open mic if you feel the need to share your heart. This love fest is hosted by none other than Mr. Gypsy George!

Musical happenings & MISS AMERICA!

Hello dear friends.

It's been a minute since I've last posted. We have been pretty chill around these parts due to the holidays & such but things are starting to pick back up in what looks to be a promising new year for the cafe & the community. We are stoked to be starting up our music events again with a few good ones to name this month.

This Thursday Jan. 17 we will be hosting round two of our benefit show for the victims of Hurricane Sandy. We had an amazing turn out for our first & raised over $900 for Occupy Sandy. Please come out & be a part of this special community building event. Its free to enter but donations will be accepted throughout the night. Give what you can. Every little be helps.
The amazing Gypsy George has assembled a stellar line up of musicians to entertain you while you're here including: Brother Hamm, Rabbi Darkside, Ryan Lamm, That Moon, Bryan Nebel, Greg Cornell & more... Music starts at 7pm sharp.

Next week we have two nights in a row packed with talent from near & far. Starting Wed. Jan. 23rd @ 7pm with John Eichlay, Rebekah Todd & Maisy Lee Mcvicar.

Thursday Jan. 24 starting at 7pm Alex Mallett host with Neville Elder & the Pine Brothers.
All events are byob with a suggested donation to the cafe & bands of whatever your heart leads you to give;) Help us keep this scene growing.
